NEAK Treatments

How to claim for NEAK-subsidised treatments -Referral code: 206821401

Treatments with a NEAK code are partially subsidised by social insurance, and our guests have to pay an additional fee when they redeem the treatment, according to the current price list. Electrotherapy treatments and dry individual and group physiotherapy on prescription free of charge can be used.

Eligibility for the allowance must be supported by a referral from a general practitioner or specialist doctor.

With a GP referral - which is valid for 90 days - our guests can use the treatments prescribed by the spa's specialist rheumatologist on the prescription and treatment form with NEAK support. The spa specialist's office hours are Monday-Wednesday 09:00 - 14:00 and Thursday-Friday 9:00 - 12:00. A social security card is required for the examination.
With a prescription and treatment plan from a specialist our guests can use the treatments prescribed on the prescription and indicated on the treatment form with NEAK support.

For treatments prescribed by the spa specialist and external specialists on prescription, the dispatchers
give a date, which available from the day of arrival!

Pool bath (NEAK code: 01)
Spa treatment is an important part of the cure. Before treatments, the temperature of the water relaxes the muscles and prepares them for therapeutic treatments. Recommended duration: 30-40 minutes, unless otherwise ordered by the doctor.

Bathtub (NEAK code: 02)
Individualized disease, symptom based on medical advice.

Mud packing (NEAK code: 03)
The prepared medicinal mud from Hévíz, mixed with the medicinal water from Zalakaros, is applied at the prescribed temperature to the body part indicated by the doctor in a 5-8 cm thick layer, then left on the treated area for the prescribed time after professional covering to retain heat. It is recommended to rest for one hour after the mud pack!

Applications: degenerative musculoskeletal diseases, post-accident rehabilitation, chronic gynaecological diseases, skin diseases (e.g. psoriasis). Immune-boosting and analgesic effects allow rapid improvement.

The use of mud packs is only possible after consultation and recommendation by a specialist!

Weight Bath (NEAK code: 04)
Stretching-pulling treatment, mainly for disc problems, but also for knee and hip pain. The patient is suspended in a specially designed pool, either in a cervical suspension or on an armrest at the armpit, depending on the location of the problem area. The load can be gradually increased as the treatment progresses.

Use of the weight bath is only possible after consultation and recommendation of a specialist!

Carbonic acid bath (NEAK code 05)
Free carbon dioxide gas is deposited on the surface of the body in the form of tiny bubbles. This causes the capillaries to dilate, blood circulation to increase and the skin to flush. It is an excellent treatment for high blood pressure, mild heart problems, post-infarction conditions and fatigue, and has a calming effect on stress-related complaints. Other indications: diabetes, osteoporosis, improving the functioning of the nervous system, conditioning.

Medical massage (NEAK code: 06)
Classic Swedish massage techniques are used to relax tight, knotted, sore muscles. Skin elasticity can be increased and blood circulation can be improved to help remove waste products. Recommended for anyone who does heavy physical or sedentary work.

Tangent Gate (NEAK code: 07)
Underwater water jet massage in which the combination of massage and thermal water reduces muscle tightness, loosens stiff muscles and wear and tear joints. It also stimulates the metabolism and increases blood and lymph circulation. A personalised treatment in a special bath.

Underwater group physiotherapy (NEAK code 08)
The buoyancy of the water reduces the weight of the body during exercise in thermal water, so it can be done even with joint pain, increasing joint mobility. The exercises, guided by a physiotherapist, have a conditioning, analgesic, metabolic, blood and lymphatic circulation stimulating effect.

The treatments financed by NEAK are available as follows: 2 times a year, 3×15 treatments and 1×15 basic bath (pool bath); exceptions are physiotherapy and electrotherapy, which are limited to a maximum of 10 treatments per session. The prescription and must be started within 30 days of the date of issue of the treatment sheets the spa treatment, which is may be used for 56 days from the date of commencement; except for physiotherapy and electrotherapy, which can be used up to 28 days from the date of issue of the treatment form.

After the end of the treatment, the patient must attend a follow-up visit with the prescribing doctor, as the next treatment cannot be started without a follow-up visit.

Spa treatments are located in the indoor pool building, with „wet treatments” and mud baths on the ground floor and „dry treatments” on the first floor.
