Medical treatments

Mud packing
The prepared medicinal mud from Hévíz, mixed with the medicinal water from Zalakaros, is applied at the prescribed temperature to the body part indicated by the doctor in a 5-8 cm thick layer, then left on the treated area for the prescribed time after professional covering to retain heat. It is recommended to rest for one hour after the mud pack!

Applications: degenerative musculoskeletal diseases, post-accident rehabilitation, chronic gynaecological diseases, skin diseases (e.g. psoriasis). Immune-boosting and analgesic effects allow rapid improvement.

The use of mud packs is only possible after consultation and recommendation by a specialist!

Weight Bath
Stretching-pulling treatment, mainly for disc problems, but also for knee and hip pain. The patient is suspended in a specially designed pool, either in a cervical suspension or on an armrest at the armpit, depending on the location of the problem area. The load can be gradually increased as the treatment progresses.
Use of the weight bath is only possible after consultation and recommendation of a specialist!

Carbonic acid baths
Free carbon dioxide gas is deposited on the surface of the body in the form of tiny bubbles. This causes the capillaries to dilate, blood circulation to increase and the skin to flush. It is an excellent treatment for high blood pressure, mild heart problems, post-infarction conditions and fatigue, and has a calming effect on stress-related complaints. Other indications: diabetes, osteoporosis, improving the functioning of the nervous system, conditioning.

Tangent gate
Underwater water jet massage in which the combination of massage and thermal water reduces muscle tightness, loosens stiff muscles and wear and tear joints. It also stimulates the metabolism and increases blood and lymph circulation. A personalised treatment in a special bath.

Medical medical massage
Classic Swedish massage techniques are used to relax tight, knotted, sore muscles. Skin elasticity can be increased and blood circulation can be improved to help remove waste products. Recommended for anyone who does heavy physical or sedentary work.

Healing touches massage
We work on all the senses and use a massage cream made with our medicinal water. Extremely rich in trace elements and minerals, it has a refreshing effect during a relaxing massage. You will find a wide range of our medicinal water cosmetics in the spa shop, so you can take the essence of Zalakaros home with you.

Individual physiotherapy
Our physiotherapists use specific individualised movement therapy to restore the function of the affected part of the body, taking into account the patient's psychological, physiological and age-related characteristics (McKenzie gymnastics, Terrier soft tissue mobilisation, suspension grid mobilisation, instrumental muscle training... etc.)

Group physiotherapy (in gym)

  • Neck and shoulder gymnastics - using equipment (ball, stick, rubber band)
  • Gerinctorna - muscle strengthening, posture improvement using physioball
  • Osteoporosis gymnastics - therapeutic gymnastics for osteoporosis patients
  • Intimate gymnastics
  • Electrotherapy

Underwater group physiotherapy
The buoyancy of the water reduces the weight of the body during exercise in thermal water, so it can be done even with joint pain, increasing joint mobility. The exercises, guided by a physiotherapist, have a conditioning, analgesic, metabolic, blood and lymphatic circulation stimulating effect.

Electric treatments
4 compartment galvanic, selective stimulation current, stable galvanic, diadynamic, interference, iontophoresis, TENS.

Ultrasound, underwater ultrasound
A lymphatic massage created by mechanical vibration, which has anti-inflammatory, muscle relaxing, analgesic, vasodilating and exfoliating effects. Underwater ultrasound treatment is commonly used to treat the small joints of the hand.

Magnetotherapy (magnetic resonance imaging)
The magnetic field influences the ionic circulation within the cells, improving the oxygen supply to the cells, dilating the capillaries and thus increasing the elimination of waste products, reducing the inflammatory process and the associated pain.

After electrotherapy treatments - especially if you are using an anti-inflammatory or pain-relieving cream - an hour's rest is recommended! To purchase electrotherapy treatments, please consult the spa specialist.

Incontinence treatment
Incontinence is a condition with unpleasant symptoms that causes urinary problems. Electro-stimulation of the pelvic muscles is a very effective treatment to relieve symptoms. The electrical impulses cause the muscles to contract, strengthen and regain their original posture. Treatments can be started without a prior medical examination. The effectiveness of electrotherapy treatment can be enhanced by the addition of intimate exercise under the guidance of qualified physiotherapists.

Lymphatic drainage
Lymphatic drainage is a dental technique that increases the return of lymph fluid to the connective tissue. Lymphatic massage activates the immune system and metabolic processes, drains tissue oedema - reducing pain in the affected organs - and indirectly improves blood circulation, nutrient and oxygen supply to the cells.

Foot massage
Massaging the feet is a method for preventing diseases, refreshing and regenerating. Massaging the reflex zones on the soles of the feet has a harmonising effect on the functioning of the whole body. It strengthens the immune system, detoxifies, activates the body's self-healing mechanisms, refreshes and relaxes.

NEW CONTRACTS

BEMER TERAPIA

The BEMER pulse has a significant effect on the blood supply to the body and organs, and on the regulation of blood flow at both local and higher levels.
This worldwide unique signal configuration (BEMER pulse) helps to optimise micro-circulation in the body during both day and night. Of particular importance is the revolutionary sleep programme, which supports the body's blood distribution during sleep and helps the body to sleep more restfully.

SHOCK WAVE THERAPY

The artificially created shock waves penetrate beneath the surface of the skin and have an analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect on painful areas. Instead of treating the symptoms, the real cause of chronic pain is addressed. The treatment takes 15 minutes per session on 1 area of the body. Significant improvement is seen after just 8-10 treatments. In all cases, the treatment is subject to ORVOSI VISA.

Under the distinctive fan-shaped roof are 2 thermal pools, popular with guests who come for a spa treatment and to recover. The current layout was completed in 2013, with an extension to the poolside lounge area, where you can take a breather on comfortable beds between treatments. A cold water pool for easy, therapeutic swimming has also been added, which is also very popular with our visitors.

Our unit, which can be used with a daily ticket, is open all year round and is the quickest way to access the spa services and the units that have been completed during the recent expansion of the spa, such as the spa and thermal world or the adventure bath. There is also a restaurant in the building and access to the beach baths in the summer.
